Carbon fiber veil is a non-woven fabric composed of randomly oriented fine carbon fibers, held together by a soluble chemical adhesive binder. Its smooth, uniform surface finish makes it ideal for applications requiring a high-quality appearance and/or a lightweight outer layer to avoid print-through and enhance surface finish for painting or coating. Else, it can be used as a matrix carrying media, to form a resin film or layer that can be used in various adhesive or structural applications, this way avoiding the more extensive use of fillers. Also, being extremely lightweight, it can be used to improve fracture toughness, interlaminar strength and impact resistance. While carbon fiber veil minimizes the weight of structures, its electrical conductivity properties make it ideal for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and other electrical and antistatic applications.
It is widely utilized across various industries, including aerospace, automotive, wind energy, sports equipment, industrial and marine, to optimize the surface quality and the overall performance of composite products.
